Boring But Important

Accessibility Statement

Our business is situated in an old Victorian house built on a hill which by it's very nature is not accessible to all. We do not have a lift to the bedrooms on the first floor. We have small steps all around the house including three steps up to the ground floor bedrooms from the sittingroom.  Most of  our bathrooms have baths with Edwardian style mixer taps though three of our rooms have showers. We have ground floor changing rooms with power showers and a private changing room with extra aids for our less able bodied guests  but as is the nature of the house it does not have easy access. We are happy to  read the menu to persons with limited visibility. We and our staff are willing to offer any kind of assistance that is required. Although we do not offer room service, we live on the premises, and we will always be on hand in case of emergency. We do all we can to provide all our guests with a personal and caring service, and we try to overcome any barriers that the physical limitations of the property create.

Reservations

Reservations to be confirmed in writing or by e-mail with a credit card to hold the booking.  No extra charge will be made for rooms cancelled more than 48 hours prior to arrival, if less than 48 hours the first nights accommodation tariff will be charged. Confirmations will be sent to you by post or e-mail. As with the law in Wales we are totally non-smoking.

Children

At Sychnant we warmly welcome well behaved children. but we are not a baby sitting service and we do expect parents to control their little people so that our older guests can enjoy their well deserved breaks.  We really do try to do as much as possible to make life pleasant for all our guests and with that in mind we have games, toys and videos/DVDs available for our smaller residents.  We  have  suites with lovely sitting rooms, and  superior rooms that are  perfect  if you are travelling with children. They have sofa beds in the sitting rooms with proper sprung mattresses for restful sleep so the  children sleep in their own room.  It might be an idea to bring their favourite DVDs just so you can have some adult time. Of course they are more than welcome to watch DVDs from  our collection, we try to keep up to date with what children like. High teas are served in the dining room at 6 o'clock or children may dine with their parents in the main dining room from 7o'clock from the fine dining menu.  Children under ten will charged at half price. Our restaurant is opened to non residents and is very busy so dinner when booked in advance is charged at a discounted rate for our residents only.

Prices

vary according to size and facilities.  Pretty please be aware that we have three smaller rooms all of which have king-size or twin beds so they are not tiny but we don't want you to be disappointed by the size. If you want a larger room please ask us and we'll try to direct you to the best room for your needs. Our ground floor rooms have French windows opening onto individual terraces for those warm summer evenings.....we do get them....honest!! Dogs and humans alike love the terrace and access to the garden.  Some of the suites have private decks with their own hot tubs and some with whirlpool baths.  Not all our bathrooms have separate showers though they all of Edwardian style mixer taps but there are five wet rooms available in the changing rooms off the leisure suite if we haven't been able to provide you with a room with a shower.

Pets

We warmly welcome well-behaved pets of all kinds at no charge.  Until recently we have always accept pets with no problems at all............in the last 18 months we have had two cases of damage to our rooms through some of our guests not controlling their dogs.  This makes us really sad as we have been in business since 1990 before here and we have always taken pets with no problems.  I hope that our guests with their pets will understand that if you furry friend causes a mess that leaves us out of pocket we will have to charge for it.  The cleaning bill for the sofa that the two dogs who were allowed to sleep and walk over it with muddy paws was £75.  We still want you to bring your four legged friends, we love meeting them..  If you forget your doggie towels please ask for some........we have loads.  And if Fido sleeps on the bed at home we will be happy to provide a throw so he/she can do the same here.

Environmental Policy

we are committed to helping the environment in the way we run our business and how we encourage our customers to be aware of environmental issues within both our business and the surrounding area. We are committed to reducing pollution where possible and to recycle as much as is possible. We are aware that businesses such as ours have an impact on the environment; an influx of visitor to the area, consumption of fuel, energy and water, the production of waste.
